Figurine | My Hero Academia TEXTURE Katsuki Bakugo

I've literally just finished watching the first season of My Hero Academia (僕のヒーローアカデミア Boku no Hero Academia) and OMG it was so much fun! The plot was interesting and I was visually satisfied with the colours and interesting designs of the costumes. I never read Marvel or DC comics but I think I can tell how the anime being influenced by the American comic characters.

Therefore onto this week's figurine, I want to talk about this Banpresto figure featuring one of the anime's main character Katsuki Bakugou (爆豪 勝己 Bakugou Katsuki) from their Texture line. If you've been following my Facebook page, surely you saw another My Hero Academia figurine line from Bandai Spirits that I'm currently collecting too but these Texture figures are just so much fun to play with; I already reviewed the first one from the line so definitely check that out!

Now at this point, this figure is one of four Bakugou's figures that I have; one from Banpresto The Amazing Heroes line, one from Banpresto Figure Colosseum line, one from Banpresto Q Posket line and coming this September, the 10th Anniversary Banpresto World Figure Colosseum Modeling Academy Super Master Stars Piece The Brush version. Indeed, it's the top fan favourite in the 2019 BWFC competition for My Hero Academia category, sculpted by Shintaro Takahashi from Zero Studio.

But first, let's talk about the packaging!

As you can see above, there's half of the figure front elevation printed at the front and smaller sides of the box while a close-up of the textured finish of Kacchan's costume.

At the back of the box, there's the front elevation of the figurine being printed again along with 2 points of close-up that we'll be focusing on for this figure.

At the top side of the box, there's the figurine line; Texture printed on it and there's also the round, hologram sticker on top of the white box that says Licensed by TOHO Co. Ltd. Also, there's the manufacturing date printed at the bottom side of the box which is June, 2020.

Now, the figurine came with an inner packaging that supposedly hold the unassembled figurine inside so even when the outer box get smashed into half of its size, not to worry as the figurine should be safe for you to unbox although the sight of dented box is such a sore for us who love taking photos for our figures. According to a Shopee seller, an authentic figure always comes in a box and there's serial number stamped on the inner side of of the top (sometimes bottom) lid of the box so definitely check yours before cutting open the plastic cover.

Of course, the figurine came in unassembled parts, sealed in clear plastics; usually in 3 to 6 parts depending on the design and for this first figure from the line, there's the custom black stand for his left foot, the upper and lower body parts together with Kacchan's signature large, orange-rimmed flare-shaped accessories protruding on both sides of his head. All of those took me less than a minute to assemble.

Do note that those head accessories have different shape of connectors so make sure to put them accordingly.

When it comes to Kacchan's hero costume, other than his winter setup; he wears a large jacket with a high collar instead of the usual tank top, there isn't much of change at least not until the upcoming movie World Heroes' Mission which is scheduled in August.

Now, here are the satisfying close-ups of the figurines!

While other Kacchan figures feature his signature large grenade-like gauntlets attached to his arms, you can see the silver-coloured parts attached onto the sleeves in details.

Just look at the textured finish on his black tank top and the texture on his baggy pants are different by the way.

There's the embossed copyright logo on Kacchan's knee-high combat boots with orange soles and eyelets.

Check out Kacchan's expression here that suits his pose well as he smirks with slightly looking sideways! That's so him! Now what do you think of this figure? Have you watched My Hero Academia? Definitely let me know by leaving comments down below and I guess that's all of it! I'll see you guys on next week's post!
