Throwback Thursday | My Hero Academia Manga

I've been following My Hero Academia's manga for about 3 years now; I was filling the void in my head after I've finished reading Demon Slayer's over 200 chapters in a single night and I was like, what's next on my shounen list?

My Hero Academia first came to me in the form of anime that can be easily streamed on Netflix but I'm more of a manga reader hence these throwback photo of when I first bought the official English translation by Viz Media. As usual, I got them from Kinokuniya's webstore.

Fast forward to several days ago, the mangaka, Kohei Horikoshi has announced that there's only 5 chapters left to the main series and I've felt this big wave of relief because I was expecting that to happen after reading chapter 425. Up to this day, there are 38 volumes have been released that include 386 chapters with volume 39 coming in October. In Japan, volume 40 that include up to chapter 410 has been released back in April so I guess there are 2 more volumes left for this series to complete.

But will I truly be happy when the series ends?

Throwback Thursday | My First Funko Pop!

It hasn't been that long since I've started collecting Funko Pop! Animation for My Hero Academia but here'a a throwback to my first purchase ever which is Todoroki Enji as known as Endeavor!

... not sure if my dad is reading this but he's somehow like Endeavor too but we're all working our ways into fixing broken things in our own family as well. We're all human and I've stopped putting my parents on pedestal sometime ago and started looking at them as humans too but that's not saying I respect them less than before. In fact, I respect them more than ever as I learned about their past mistakes and hopefully I won't be lead astray as I'm still finding my way, struggling to be a proper adult.

Just sharing some throwback photos during the event because I truly miss going out and socialising with my fellow bloggers and media influencers.

Stay home and safe, you guys!

Throwback Thursday | What I Ate for Dinner One Year Ago Today

I have never bothered myself to check or remember what I ate yesterday or the day before but there's a notification on my phone showing these photos that I took exactly 1 year ago.

These are some of delicious dishes that my younger brother and I had on this day while we're celebrating our older brother's birthday at Sabah Keratang at Sadong Jaya, Kota Kinabalu.

Can't believe it has been that long since that visit to the restaurant so I might as well go soon.

Hope you guys are having a lovely week!

Throwback Thursday | Starbucks Planner

So that's my Starbucks planner at the beginning of 2019. I just love it and its 2 other sisters - I got like 5 planners last year; spent too much time in the cafe thinking and worrying about stuffs that I barely remember now. Starbucks gave out stickers with minimum purchases that can be placed all over the black planner exterior. Kinda nice to have a custom feeling to it.

This is the very same planner, one year later. I'm too embarrassed to show you guys how messy it is inside with bunch of receipts, coffee spilled and whatnot but I kinda wish to find a refill for it but of course I have new Starbucks planners 2020 ready to be used. I'm sad that this is going into my archive but let's make room for new stuffs, shall we?

Do you use planners on daily basis? I've always wanted to do bullet journal but I'm either doing it prettily or messily (then I'll be correcting, printing things out over and over again) and there's no middle ground for me hence nope. I don't have enough time nor patience so for this is the 10th year since I've been using Starbucks planner and probably going to continue for more years ahead of me.

Below | Starbucks Planner 2018 that comes in that blue and Christmas red with jackets.

Below | Starbucks planner 2015 that comes in Christmas Green and dark brown jackets although can't be seen here. lol

Below | Starbucks planner in 2014 that comes with iPad slot.

Now that I think of it, maybe I should take a fam portrait of my Starbucks planner. We'll see and I guess that's all of it! I'll see you guys on my next post!

Throwback Thursday | RIP iPod Classic

So I just saw the boy; main character was playing his iPod in one of ONE OK ROCK's latest music videos and man, I miss mine so much. That's Danny, by the way. It was supposed Danny's 10th birthday this year but I haven't been able to turn it on since last year I actually.

Honestly, I do miss the days when I can just turn off the phone and listen to music all day while sketching in the studio; trying to sketch is more likely.

Stand out and fit in. Don't lose yourself along the way. You do you and don't let anybody else tells you any different.

Like LINKIN PARK, ONE OK ROCK is another band that I want to grow old with. Well, BTS too for that matter. God, I hope BTS still makes sense when I'm 50. Is that too much to ask? The way RM, Suga and J-Hope make their music is surely going to bring them even further. Are you excited for their comeback?

Signing out!

Throwback Thursday | A Cup of Matcha With...

I know lots of people bond over so many different things like books, cars, drinks and for me, it's a cup of matcha. I know some of you might say, not coffee? Well, it's not that I haven't tried going out with some people and bond over cups of coffee but maybe because there are so many reasons why I love matcha; the fact that I always fancy traditional Japanese culture like tea ceremony, flower arrangements even kendo!

I once picked up a tip from Korean actress that she drinks hibiscus teas to avoid her face being puffy or bloating in the morning but hibiscus tea is a bit hard to get for me compared to Japanese green tea but of course I'd like to indulge myself in it sometime. Maybe a quick trip to Chinese herbal store down at the Gaya Street during the weekend perhaps.

... but this is a throwback post! Almost forgot! So yeah, the above is one of the firsts green tea latte that I had at October Coffee and if I remember well, it was at the Latitud 6 branch. The thing is, everything was pleasant about that cup of latte except that it reminds me of someone that I haven't seen for over a year and actually quite disappointed that the person messed up so much that I had no choice other than to cut ties as friends.

I haven't been to the cafe since then although I feel a year over would have sufficed to somewhat neutralise the location so I can go and have another cup of the delicious green tea latte at that cafe. Maybe in October?

Throwback Thursday | Architecture Schools

Milstein Hall at Cornell University / OMA. Image © Matthew Carbone

In case you're wondering, I didn't go to Cornell but I did go to architecture school about 7 years ago and dropped out when I was in 2nd year of 5-year program as I didn't perform well in design subjects. More specifically, studio subjects; I can take other subjects like building construction, materials, etc but my design skill just getting worst from second semester onwards. Of course, now I know it's because I didn't work hard enough to stay in school although at that time I was just blaming others for my own mistakes. I wish I can blame myself being immature too but nope, it was all me.

Now that I'm working in electrical engineering company as part of administrative staffs, I get to see the paperworks; plans of building constructions and I'm not going to lie. I do miss architecture schools. I miss drawing lines with different weights. I miss the morning coffee first thing in the studio. I miss my drawing tools. Sigh.

I don't know. I've been having these thoughts since I saw architectural magazine laying around the office few days ago. I need to do something about this or maybe I don't? It's been years but I wonder why I'm still having these thoughts.

Or maybe it's because I've gone too long without going somewhere.
