Figure | Banpresto Q Posket Rurouni Kenshin - Sojiro Seta

   

Finally, the last instalment of the live-action Rurouni Kenshin is here and I'm so nervous I haven't actually watched them but I know for sure it's going to be amazing. Have you guys watched any of the Rurouni Kenshin movies or you're sticking with watching the anime or merely reading the manga? I haven't watched the anime nor reading the manga and solely admiring Takeru Sato's awesome action stunts on the movies so I'd like to know your thoughts on this.

Anyway, today I'm going to talk about the fifthfigure that came out from Banpresto Q Posket for Rurouni Kenshin line end of last month which is Sojiro Seta (瀬田 宗次郎 Seta Sojiro). Sojiro's first appearance on the pentalogy was in the second instalment *spoiler alert* where he's responsible for the assassination of Okubo Toshimichi; one of the leader for Isshin Shishi (the organisation that Kenshin was involved with during the Bakumatsu era) who became a major official in the Meiji government.

But first, let's talk about the packaging that the figure came in.

As you can see above, there's the front elevation printed both at the front and back of the box. The design is real nice and just pops right out with the bright colour to complement the figure's colour scheme. This is indeed the A version of the figure and I do prefer this one instead of the cooler, muted tone of the B version. Of course, there's the Bandai Spirits CO. Ltd. logo at the lower right corner of the box with Banpresto logo at the top right of it as to indicate that this is an authentic item released by the manufacturer.  

 

At the top side of the box, there's the figurine line; Rurouni Kenshin Q Posket printed on it and there's also the round, white and blue logo printed on the lower right part that says Approved by SHUEISHA. Also, there's the manufacturing date printed at the bottom side of the box which is June, 2021 and I'm pretty sure that this is the Asian Version of the figure.

Now, the figurine came with an inner packaging and protector lining that supposedly hold the unassembled figurine inside so even when the outer box get smashed into half of its size, not to worry as the figurine should be safe for you to unbox. 

According to my observation, an authentic figure always comes in a box and there's serial number stamped on the inner side of of the top (sometimes bottom) lid of the box so definitely check yours before cutting open the plastic cover.

I also noticed that these recent releases have set of number printed right on the plastic and there's also a series of number printed at the foot stand along with Bandai Spirits name and logo.

Of course, the figurine came in unassembled parts, sealed in clear plastics; usually in 3 to 6 parts depending on the design and for this fifth figure from the line, there's the signature Q Posket round black base, the body, the shoulder with hand that supposedly hold the sword along with the sword itself which took me less than a minute to assemble. 

If you've watched the sequel of the live-action movie, then the figure was closely designed following to that of Sojiro's appearance nicely. He wears simply designed light blue kimono with purple linings and light indigo hakama. He also wears white hadajuban under his kimono and white tabi to match and as seen here, he's sporting light green hand knee guards.

Front and back elevations. Not gonna lie, Sojiro is so cute and I'm so glad that he finally found what he's meant to do after his breakdown with Kenshin.

The whole Q Posket line for Rurouni Kenshin as of this date and I guess this is it, you guys. I don't think there'll be new addition to this line any time soon but I'd be sure to keep you guys posted if I were to get any new figures for Samurai X.

Figure | Banpresto Q Posket Rurouni Kenshin - Battousai Himura

  

Previously, I've posted a review on Banpresto Q Posket for Rurouni Kenshin and this is the fourth figure that came out from this line back in May featuring Kenshin Himura (緋村 剣心 Himura Kenshin) in his Battousai (man-slayer) appearance. 

First thing first, let's talk about the packaging!

As you can see the above, there's the front elevation printed both at the front and back of the box. The design is real nice and just pops right out with the bright colour to complement the figure colour scheme. This is indeed the A version of the figure and as much as I love this version, I do want to get the B version wear Kenshin wears dark navy men's kimono later. Of course, there's the Bandai Spirits CO. Ltd. logo at the lower right corner of the box with Banpresto logo at the top right of it as to indicate that this is an authentic item released by the manufacturer.

Generally, Kenshin dresses simply; wearing a plain men's kimono of cheap, worn-out clothes with a white hakama, zori and tabi. In the live-action films, Kenshin wears a brown kimono in addition to his signature red kimono given to him by Kaoru in the first movie and as you can see in his flashbacks, he's wearing dark-coloured kimono during his mission as assassin.

Now, let's see some close-ups on the figure!

There's the embossed copyright at the inner part of his muted light grey hakama and here you can see he's wearing blue tabi to match his blue kimono.

Himura Battousai was released simultaneously with Saito Hajime that I've reviewed last week.

I'm over the moon of having both version of Kenshin and as you can see in the above close-ups, this Battousai version has only one scar on his face stroke by Kiyosato Akira; Tomoe Yukishiro's betrothed at the time.

Onto the figure review this week, I'm going to talk about another Banpresto Q Posket for Rurouni Kenshin and the third figure that came out from this line back in May is one of the main characters of the live action movie which is Hajime Saito (斎藤 一 Saito Hajime). He left a deep impression on me as he didn't pursue Kenshin further to fight as Kenshin thrust his sword onto the ground, expressing his intention to move forward into the new era as seen in the beginning of the 2012's live-action movie. Anyway, while Saito appeared in his Shinsengumi uniform  in that scene, he's almost always seen in blue policeman's uniform in Meiji era ; throughout the first trilogy of the live-action movies.

Saitō is a rather tall man with a lean but fit frame and he has a long face with pronounced cheekbones and tear-troughs. His eyes are piercing and narrow while yellow in color and his short black hair is neatly slicked back with the exception of four bangs over his forehead. Of course, Banpresto did a good job of translating that into the Q Posket form and boy, he still looks fierce especially in that Isshiki stance!
