Hilton hotels in Malaysia launched its national mooncake series, Oriental
Treasures, with an enticing array of traditional baked varieties of classic and
modern flavours - a celebration of culinary craftsmanship, fine quality and
exquisite flavours. To top it as a festive centrepiece, this year’s national
mooncake box design pays homage to the core of Chinese heritage.
Embellished in imperial red, the premium
square box features a noble pair of red-crowned cranes amongst sacred clouds.
Characteristically celestial, the golden full moon illuminates the scene, much
like the celebrated baked mooncakes during Mid-Autumn festivities. The ornate
die-cut window pane, inspired by the moon windows of Oriental architecture,
offers a peek to the individual matte-finishing gold and red receptacles
housing its respective mooncakes.
As
reunions and rituals take a different form this year, the mooncakes serve as a
reminder to go back to basics. Eugene Oelofse, National Marketing
Communications Director says, “The world is changing, cultures evolving, but a
