Log | Major Decluttering for My Kitchen

When I first came back to this apartment after staying with my parents for about a year while I was sick, I've made a mistake when I bought groceries before cleaning and decluttering my kitchen space. I sorted my groceries in shopping bags at the very least so everything I need was still within reach but after about two weeks, I've finally cleared a weekend just to focus on this area.

This cabinet was actually empty so I sorted my cooking stuffs in below shelf with my salad dressings and sauces plus the stuffs I need for my overnight oats on top shelf.

Sorted this kitchen utensils drawer, gotten rid some that I no longer need or simply broken.

Some duplicates that I don't mind keeping.

Cleared the bottom drawer and filled it in with my travelling drink essentials : shaker with powder compartments, 700ml sized shaker bottles, 500ml shaker bottles, 350ml shaker bottles, glass overnight oat jars and travel mugs. Two set of each type for my mum and I when we're travelling on the road.

Cleared the middle drawer and sorted in my kitchen utensils that I actually use especially that mandolin as it gives me perfect cuts for my daily salads.

I cleaned the cabinet under the sink too but I'm already exhausted at that point so I forgot to take a picture plus I still need to get proper container boxes to sort some stuffs I want to put in there so let me update on that later.

Once I was done sorting everything in the top and bottom cabinets, I washed all of my cooking pans and gotten rid several items that can't be used anymore then I wiped cleaned the stove area again plus the cabinet under.

I'm so happy seeing things in order like this and felt that I got a piece of myself again. As a reminder, I'm putting the *before* picture here so I won't go back to this state again.

Ya Allah, please don't let me have this kind of regression again and give me strength to live another day with You.

Log | Organising my spices

I mistakenly placed my loose teas inside these glass jars before so I'm glad that I've finally fill them in with the spices that I love and regularly use in my cooking. I still have another set of 6 jars but I'm planning to replace those store-bought spice bottles to into these instead as I find them not airtight enough to sustain these spices especially the dried chilli flakes.

I don't have any go-to brands and usually just go with whatever my local supermarket is carrying but for black pepper, I always go with the ones originated from Sarawak. Recently discovered that powdered old ginger in packet too I'm going to make a beverage out of it later.

Log | Organising My Tableware

I'm still in the middle of decluttering my whole kitchen so I haven't start cleaning these cabinets properly yet but for now I've found a small yet super sturdy shelf from IKEA; we have a local reseller here in East Malaysia that can sustain these considerably heavy tableware.

Managed to get rid some jars and jugs and keeping those that I actually use.

Log | Restocked My Favourite Granola

Decanted the whole pack in 500ml sized Kilner Fresh Storage Jar.

Amount per serving is 40g so that's five times at least. I got the first round from my local supermarket but then I saw these at even lower price on Tiktok shop but the standard shipping was quite expensive probably due to the volume as these are still under 1.5KG so I opted for sea shipping that took about a 6 weeks to arrive.

Tips Tuesday | Organising My Herbal Tea Packs

I've purchased several more of the clear containers that I've previously got for my 3-in-1s packets to store in my herbal tea packs and they all look so nice and pretty.

I simply placed the big packs in baskets before so there's no significant organisation and I sometimes grabbed the wrong packs so organisation is needed here.

Love the new single packs as they're properly labelled right on the sachet. I usually restock these herbal teas every few months and one container can hold about 25 to 30 packs. Now that I have designated places for them, I can plan my future purchases to avoid overloaded stock.

Next, I'm going to organise the loose herbal tea additions like dried longan, going berry and red dates so stay tuned for more.

Shelfie Sunday | 3-in-1 Packets Organiser

I love how they packed nicely and accordingly like that plus it's so easy to take each packet out compared to before.

Stacked Saturday | Tumblers

I recently purchased tumbler organisers after I realised the fact that I have over 50 tumblers laying around my apartment and these are after I got rid some really old ones with visible cracks and missing lids. I'm still in the middle of sorting through my apartment so stay tuned for the finished look later.

Breakfast Log | Overnight Oats Batch 6.5

Adjustments from previous batch : switched to low fat coconut cream and I  used ½ cup of plant-based milk ≈ 125ml which gives perfect ratio for my taste; not too thick. I actually mixed the chia seed, coconut cream, milk and honey with milk frother first before mixing the rolled oats in with fork.

As always, I've been enjoying these overnight oats with fresh berries, mixed nuts and granola at each time to keep me motivated. Let's keep eating healthy, okay!
