Figurine | My Hero Academia TEXTURE Shoto Todoroki

So our government has decided to extend the MCO for another 2 weeks; definitely no surprise there so I guess more time to binge-watch anime on Netflix, re-arranging my closet and sanitising my whole apartment. I'm still on the second season of My Hero Academia where there's an origin story for this very character that I've been focusing on for most of the time; Shouto Todoroki (轟焦凍Todoroki Shouto).

Therefore onto this week's figurine, I want to talk about this Banpresto figure featuring Shouto from their Texture line as it's just interesting like Deku's and Bakugo's that I've reviewed previously.

At this point, this figure is one of four Shouto's figures that I have; one from Banpresto The Amazing Heroes line, one from Figure Colosseum line and another one from Q Posket line that's coming hopefully next month without any delay.

But first, let's talk about the packaging!

As you can see above, there's half of the figure front elevation printed at the front and smaller sides of the box while a close-up of the textured finish of Shouto's costume which is the third upgrade from his original hero costume; indicated by the presence of burgundy wrist guards with metal-looking plates printed on the other smaller side.

At the back of the box, there's the front elevation of the figurine being printed again along with 2 points of close-up that we'll be focusing on for this figure.

At the top side of the box, there's the figurine line; Texture printed on it and there's also the round, hologram Medialink sticker on top of the white box that says Licensed by TOHO Co. Ltd. Also, there's the manufacturing date printed at the bottom side of the box which is August, 2020.

Now, the figurine came with an inner packaging that supposedly hold the unassembled figurine inside so even when the outer box get smashed into half of its size, not to worry as the figurine should be safe for you to unbox.

For this figure, I almost pulled out the figure without realising the hand was stuck on the inner box so I'd be sure to pull out the whole inner packaging and then unbox it. According to a Shopee seller, an authentic figure always comes in a box and there's serial number stamped on the inner side of of the top (sometimes bottom) lid of the box so definitely check yours before cutting open the plastic cover.

Of course, the figurine came in unassembled parts, sealed in clear plastics; usually in 3 to 6 parts depending on the design and for this first figure from the line, there's the custom beige-coloured foot stand, and the upper and lower body parts that took me less than a minute to assemble. It's nice that the legs area being protected by a plastic mould like that.

As I've mentioned above, Shouto started wearing this version of his hero costume like halfway through the third season particularly in the Provisional Hero License Exam Arc. Another significant difference compared to the previous costume upgrade would be the set of straps on his boots.

Now, here are the satisfying close-ups of the figurines!

Basically, Shouto's hero costume consists of a dark blue jacket with elbow-length sleeves with its high collar joined at the centre by a grey neckpiece.

His slightly baggy pants have the same colour and you can see the metal-plated combat vest that he wears. He also sports a light brown utility belt around his waist with little metal capsules supposedly containing medical supplies hanging off the front.

His beige boots have grey soles with thin grey lines running down at the centre of the front and now with straps on top. Spot the embossed copyright logo on Shouto's right boot.

I don't know why but compared to the other figurines of Shouto that I have, this Texture version have the lightest colour of white for his hair. I'll show you guys the difference next time, okay!
