Jollibee Opens First Store in Malaysia!

Towards the of 2018, another fast food chain company has landed  in KK city and managed to position its first branch in the oldest, most-known shopping mall  in Sabah; Centre Point.

World-famous Chickenjoy and other tasty bestsellers to delight Malaysian taste buds

Jollibee, home of the world-famous Chickenjoy, officially opened for business yesterday in Malaysia, with long lines of customers waited hours to get their fill of Jollibee’s delectable food.

What drew the crowd was the star of Jollibee’s menu which is its Chickenjoy fried chicken, known for being crispylicious on the outside and juicylicious on the inside.

Loved by a global fanbase, Chickenjoy has earned the praise of late celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain, as well as various leading international publications like the South China Morning Post and Foodbeast.

Other than its crispylicious juicylicious fried chicken, Malaysians can also enjoy Jollibee’s Jolly Spaghetti – with its signature sweet-style sauce loaded with chunky slices hotdog; and tasty Yumburgers – a classic combination of Jollibee’s patty that’s made with 100% pure beef and special burger dressing.

Malaysians can now try Jollibee’s best-sellers at its first store located at Center Point Sabah, Kota Kinabalu. The store is open from 9 AM to 10 PM daily.

Jollibee is the flagship brand of Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC), which has been touted as the largest and fastest growing* Asian restaurant company in the world. Its market capitalization amounts to USD 6.1 billion as of December 7, 2018.

Starting with only two ice cream parlors, JFC has grown to over 4,300 stores with 14 brands spread across 21 countries. In the Philippines, the Jollibee brand is bigger than two of its closest competitors combined. Jollibee branches can now be found in 14 other countries, including USA, United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, United Arab Emirates, among others. In Vietnam, it is the fastest growing quick service restaurant with over 100 stores. In Brunei, it is the #1 QSR. “It is an exciting new chapter for Jollibee to open the doors of its first store in Malaysia. We invite Malaysians to come and see for themselves why people line up for hours to enjoy our delicious bestsellers like Chickenjoy, as well as our friendly service,” said Ernesto Tanmantiong, CEO of Jollibee Foods Corporation.

Long queues but customers were willing to wait patiently for their turns.

Earlier in October, fans swarmed Jollibee’s new outlet opening in London and queued for as long as 18 hours to get their much-anticipated Jollibee meals. Another opening in Manhattan in November also saw long lines with people waiting up to 20 hours in the chill and rain.

Friendly and helpful staffs taking orders from customers along the queues for smoother experience.

“Good food knows no boundaries. Beyond our home base, Jollibee is also beloved throughout Asia and other continents – appealing to diverse tastes and cultures. This has propelled us to become the fastest growing Asian restaurant company, and we are very thankful for the overwhelming support. It drives us to do better for our customers, and to continue to serve delicious food with our signature warm service,” said Dennis Flores, President and Head of International Business – Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia.

So, congratulations to Jollibee Malaysia after successfully opened your first branch here in this country! I remember seeing the restaurant all over Manila the last time I was in the country early last year so it's great to finally taste the delicious fried chicken and guys, it's definitely worth the long queues!

I guess that's all from me and I'll see you guys on my next post!
